
Draughtsperson & Quantity Surveyor

Operational Responsibilities
• Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and expectations.
• Prepare accurate technical drawings using CAD software and update them throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site evaluations, and progress monitoring.
• Support project planning and execution by collaborating with the Operations Manager on schedules, resource allocation, and progress tracking.
• Attend site and operational meetings to provide technical input and ensure alignment with client and internal requirements.
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
Administrative Responsibilities
• Maintain organised and accurate records of drawings, project documentation, tenders, and commercial files.
• Ensure proper filing of variations, client communications, approvals, and technical revisions.
• Assist in contract close-out processes, including documentation and archiving.
• Provide administrative support for handover documentation and project summaries.
Quality Responsibilities
• Ensure all drawings and project documentation meet quality standards and comply with client specifications.
• Review and validate information from site visits and stakeholders before integrating into project plans.
• Support the development and implementation of best practices identified through post-project reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal procedures and quality standards.
HSE Responsibilities
• Adhere to DLI’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies when conducting site visits.
• Identify and report any potential health and safety issues encountered during site evaluations.
• Ensure that design considerations take into account health and safety best practices.
Asset Responsibilities
• Ensure secure and responsible handling of company-provided assets such as laptops, surveying tools, and software.
• Report any damage, loss, or malfunction of work-related tools and equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintain updated software licenses and tools required for drafting and design work.
Financial Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimations for tendering and ongoing projects.
• Support procurement by obtaining and comparing quotations from approved suppliers.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle and identify cost deviations or savings opportunities.
• Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and ROI analyses.
• Document and cost all variations, ensuring client approvals are obtained and recorded.
Reporting Responsibilities
• Provide regular project updates, including financial tracking and progress assessments, to the Drafting & QS Manager and Operations.
• Prepare project summary reports, including lessons learned and areas for improvement.
• Support finance and management with commercial documentation and data for audits or strategic planning.

Qualifications Required
• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Draughting, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Valid driving licence (preferred for site visits).
Experience Required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or MEP industry.
• Strong working knowledge of cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and site-based project monitoring.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary project environments.
• Previous exposure to project commercial reporting and final account preparation.
